Trauma Therapy- Intensive & Retreats

Reduces and/or Eliminate Trauma Symptoms

I use a holistic mind/body approach to healing trauma using EMDR, Trauma Conscious Yoga, EFT (tapping), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), positive psychology, self-compassion training and CBT to reduce and/or eliminate trauma triggers, flashbacks, nightmares and other traumatic symptoms you may be experiencing.  Often times depression and anxiety go along with trauma, so these symptoms are significantly alleviated as a positive side effect of the treatment.

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is a form of therapy to help reduce and eliminate trauma/stress symptoms by using bilateral stimulation to desensitize and reprocess traumatic or stressful memories/events/body sensations/feelings.  This can be done virtually by "tapping" on one side and other side of the body, virtual light bar, or audio bilateral stimulation.  Virtual EMDR is as effective as in person EMDR.

What is EFT?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a treatment method that stimulates acupressure points by applying gentle pressure, tapping, or massaging these points while focusing on situations that represent distressing emotions or thoughts.  This has been proven to reduce anxiety, pain, depression, and trauma symptoms.

Cassandra is trained additionally on the Trauma Tapping Technique.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is being in the present moment without judgment.  Meditation, or the practice of paying attention to the breath uses the practice of mindfulness.  It has been proven to significantly reduce anxiety, depression, pain and stress while increasing attention, memory and focus.

What is Trauma Sensitive Yoga?

Trauma Sensitive Yoga is different from traditional yoga (which in itself has many versions of practice).  I have been trained by the Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) methods.  "The TCTSY methodology is based on central components of the hatha style of yoga, where participants engage in a series of physical forms and movements. Elements of standard hatha yoga are modified to maximize experiences of empowerment and to cultivate a more positive relationship to one's body. Unlike many public yoga classes, TCTSY does not use physical hands-on adjustments to influence a participant's physical form. Rather, TCTSY presents opportunities for participants to be in charge of themselves based on a felt sense of their own body."  I offer this modality to my individual clients and in group practices.
