Still Carrying Trauma After Years of Therapy? You’re Not Alone

Weekly sessions often skim the surface—leaving trauma stored in your body, affecting sleep, relationships, and self-worth.

An EMDR + Somatic Trauma Healing Intensive is a focused 4-hour session designed to go deeper, safely and effectively. Using evidence-based EMDR therapy, trauma-conscious yoga, and nervous system regulation practices, we get to the root cause—so you can experience relief that talk therapy alone may never reach.

You’re emotionally intelligent.

Self-aware. Capable. Compassionate.

You’ve spent years in the work —therapy, coaching, breathwork, spiritual growth.

You’ve held space for everyone else. You’ve made real progress...

But your body?

Still feels stuck. Still feels like it’s on high alert.

“I know I’m safe. I just don’t feel safe.”

If that’s where you are — this isn’t a setback.
It’s a signal that your nervous system is ready for the next layer.

You Haven’t Done It Wrong.

You’ve just been healing from the neck up —
while your body kept holding the rest.

High-capacity women become experts in what I call “survival excellence.”
We function. Lead. Help others.
All while staying disconnected from our own needs.

This isn’t about adding more to your healing to-do list.
It’s about finally letting your body catch up.

Meet Your Trauma Conscious Guide

Hello Beautiful Soul, I’m Cassandra Quick

I'm a trauma therapist specializing in EMDR Intensives, somatic therapy, and trauma-conscious yoga. With 20+ years of experience, I help women release unresolved trauma, heal PTSD at the root, and finally feel safe in their bodies.

This is perfect for you if...

You feel like weekly therapy isn't enough—your sessions end just as you’re starting to dig into the real work. Or you're currently working with a therapist for day-to-day support but need an somatic and trauma-focused approach to accelerate healing.

✔ You want faster relief—you don’t want to wait months (or years) to see meaningful change.

✔ You want a more cost-effective option—by reducing time spent on check-ins, coping skill reviews, and session transitions, intensives often require fewer sessions overall to achieve results.

It might not be the right fit if…

  • You’re looking for a quick fix with no emotional investment.
  • You just aren't ready to invest the time, energy or money into a healing session (and that's ok...come back to this when you're ready!).
  • You’re currently in acute crisis and not yet ready for integrative work.

Research Behind Intensives

You might be wondering: Can healing really happen in a single extended session?
The answer is yes — and the research supports what trauma therapists have seen for years:

When we combine brain-based trauma processing (like EMDR) with body-based regulation practices (like somatic movement, breathwork, and trauma-informed yoga), healing becomes not just possible — but more complete.

What the Research Says

✧ EMDR Intensives

  • Greenwald et al. (2021) found that just three 90-minute EMDR sessions in one day significantly reduced PTSD symptoms in youth — with improvements sustained long-term.
    (Frontiers in Psychology)
  • De Jongh et al. (2016) found that EMDR intensives resulted in significant symptom reduction for adults with complex trauma, even over a short number of sessions.
(Journal of EMDR Practice and Research)
  • Van den Berg & van der Gaag (2012) showed EMDR to be effective in intensive formats even for clients with psychosis and trauma histories.
    (Psychological Medicine)

✧ Somatic Therapies & Trauma-Sensitive Yoga

  • A landmark 2014 randomized controlled trial led by Bessel van der Kolk found that Trauma-Sensitive Yoga significantly reduced symptoms of PTSD in women with chronic, treatment-resistant trauma. Participants showed greater improvements than those receiving traditional talk therapy alone.
(van der Kolk et al., "Yoga as an Adjunctive Treatment for PTSD," Journal of Clinical Psychiatry)
  • Studies from the Justice Resource Institute show that TSY helps survivors reclaim agency, rebuild body trust, and reduce dissociative symptoms. It’s especially effective for trauma that includes boundary violations, body-based memories, or chronic dysregulation.
  • Somatic practices have also been linked to improvements in vagal tone, reduced cortisol, and enhanced emotional regulation — making them ideal companions to EMDR.

Why It Matters

Trauma isn't just remembered — it's stored.
And while EMDR helps process stuck memories and emotions, somatic tools support your body in letting go, reorganizing, and re-patterning safely.

In an intensive, we don’t just "go deep" — we also stay connected, grounded, and present by integrating:

  • Gentle movement or breath with titrated emotional release
  • Parts work or visualization
  • Trauma-informed rest and closure practices

Important Note & Disclaimer

While EMDR and somatic modalities are both supported by emerging clinical research, results vary for each person. This intensive is not a substitute for medical treatment or emergency care. If you are in acute crisis, please seek immediate professional or emergency support.

FAQs

Q: Does it matter where I live to book a session?

Yes — if you're a resident of Wisconsin or Ohio, you're eligible to book this session either virtually or in person. Due to professional licensure laws, these sessions are only available to clients physically located in these two states at the time of your session. If you're outside of these states, feel free to join the waitlist and subscribe to my weekly newsletter for future offerings or non-clinical resources. You're welcome to travel to Madison, WI for in person sessions as well. Travel costs are your responsibility.

Q: What's the difference between in person and virtual?

Many clients choose virtual sessions from the comfort of their own home. You'll get the same level of support, presence, and personalization — no matter where you are. The service that's delivered is with the same care and presence regardless. Services are delivered in person at Bohemian Oasis Spa in Madison, WI.

Q: Regular therapy sessions feel too overwhelming — how is this different?

You're not alone in feeling that 50-minute sessions can sometimes stir things up… without enough time to settle.

The Embodied Healing Intensive is designed for sensitive nervous systems. With more time to build safety, regulate, and gently move through what’s stored in the body, you’re not forced to rush your process.
Instead of hitting emotional “stop-starts,” we stay present- giving your system time to release, reorganize, and integrate what arises.

Many clients leave feeling more regulated and less distressed than they do after shorter sessions - because we have time to complete the work, not just open it.

Q: Will I be “doing EMDR” the whole time?

Nope — and that’s one of the things that makes this work so effective.

While EMDR is one of the powerful tools I’m trained in, your intensive isn’t built around one rigid technique. It’s a personalized, integrative session that may include EMDR if and when it’s appropriate for your nervous system and goals.

We may also work with:

  • Somatic awareness + movement
  • Nervous system mapping
  • Titrated trauma processing
  • Emotional release
  • Grounding practices or parts work

This isn’t about pushing through a protocol — it’s about meeting your body with the right support, at the right pace, for real healing to happen.

Q: I already have a therapist — can I still book this?

Yes. These intensives can complement — not replace — your existing therapy.

If you’re working with a therapist who isn’t trained in trauma or EMDR, this session can support you in processing what your nervous system is holding, while honoring the ongoing work you’re already doing.

I collaborate with care, and you’re welcome to continue working with your current therapist while receiving focused, somatic-based trauma healing in this intensive space.

Why I Don’t Use Testimonials
Because of the sensitive and deeply personal nature of trauma therapy, I do not publish client testimonials for my therapy services. Protecting confidentiality and honoring the privacy of every client is one of my highest priorities. Your healing journey is unique, and it deserves to be held with the utmost safety, care, and respect—not shared for marketing purposes.

As a therapist since 2004, I’ve had the honor of working with hundreds of clients. For the past 5+ years, my practice has focused exclusively on helping women heal trauma through EMDR and other somatic modalities. The results are powerful: many women significantly reduce their scores on the PTSD Checklist (PCL-5), often resolve their PTSD diagnosis completely, and heal to the point where ongoing, regular therapy is no longer necessary. Women frequently describe my intensive sessions as “life-changing.”

Rather than sharing testimonials, I invite you to explore my qualifications, methods, and offerings to see if they resonate with you.
